Em is one of the most adaptable and multifaceted hairstylists on Vancouver Island. Professionally trained through the comprehensive hairdressing program at Vancouver Island University, Em brings a well-rounded background in cutting, coloring, and styling - but it’s in bridal hairstyling that they’ve found their passion and purpose.

After apprenticing under Mar Groot - one of the region’s most celebrated bridal stylists - Em joined the wedding industry in 2022 and quickly proved themselves as a rising talent.

Em’s strength lies not only in their technical skill, but in the environment they create for their clients. Their approach is warm, grounding, and deeply inclusive. Every interaction with Em is intentional - they are committed to making every person in their chair feel safe, seen, and beautifully themselves.

In addition to bridal services, Em has a strong foundation in waxing, lashes, and commercial beauty work. Over the last few years, they’ve specialized in gender-affirming care, providing beauty services that respect identity and celebrate authenticity. Since early 2024, they’ve expanded into editorial and session styling, including advanced work in extensions and wigs, further deepening their range as an artist.

Em is a proud and vocal advocate for the LGBTQ+ community within the beauty industry. They are committed to building an equitable, affirming, and joyful space in beauty - and to creating a sustainable, successful career that allows them to give back meaningfully.
